ROCK FELLOWSHIP CHURCH ARTICLES OF FAITH

Intro: We, the Rock Fellowship Church choose these articles of faith from the Holy Bible as our guide this day to express sound doctrine, and safe guard against heretical teaching: Acts 2:42, 17:11, 20:17-31, 1 Tim. 4:1, 2 Tim. 4:1-4, Heb 13:9, 2 Pet. 2:1.

The Word of God: We believe and confess that the Holy Scriptures called the Holy Bible are the true Word of God, and have sufficient authority of themselves. We believe in the inerrancy of scripture. We believe that the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible Word of God. They are complete and final written revelation of God, and thus it is expressly commanded by God that nothing be either added or taken from His written Word: Jer. 23:16-25, Deut. 13:3, Mt. 4:1-4, 22:29, John 17:17, 1 Tim. 4:16, 2 Pet. 4:16, Rev. 22:18-19.

The Holy Trinity: We believe and confess that the One God is triune “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.” God is one in substance and at the same time one in three persons. We worship God in Trinity, Trinity in unity, neither confounding “confusing” the Persons, neither dividing the one substance: Gen. 1:26, Deut. 6:4, Is. 45:5-7, 48:16, Mt. 3:13-17, 28:19, John 1:1-14, 3:16, 2 Cor.13:14, Eph. 4:4-6, 1 John 5:7.

God The Father: We believe and confess that God the Father is the personal and sovereign creator of all things: Gen. 1:1-27, John 6:44, Rom. 9:1-33, Eph. 1:1-14, 4:6.

Original Sin: We believe and confess that all people by nature are sinful. This is due to the disobedience of Adam and Eve. The fall of man from God was total. Therefore without the unconditional grace of God no one could be saved: Gen. 3:1-24, Ps: 51:5, John 1:12-13, Rom. 5:1-21, Eph. 2:1-9.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God: We believe and confess that the Lord Jesus is the Son of God. Being fully God “God the Son” became man for the suffering of death upon the cross. That He is the promised messiah, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided for the atonement of our sins, was bodily resurrected by God the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit, ascended back to the right hand of God the Father, and ever lives to make intercession for us: Is 7:14, 9:6, Mt. 1:23, John1:1-14, 3:16, Acts 1:1-1-26, 1 Tim. 2:5, 3:16, Mark Chapters 15 & 16, Gal. Heb. 4:14-16,

The Ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ: We believe and confess that the self same body which was born of the virgin Mary, was crucified, buried, and rose again on the third day. That self same body did ascend into Heaven, where he sits at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to receive His church unto himself: John 6:62, 14:1-3, 16:28, Mark 16:17, Acts 1:1-26.

The Holy Spirit: We believe and confess in the Person and work of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God indwells, seals, and empowers to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ: John 14:15-30, 15:26-27, 16:5-15, Acts 1:8.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit: We believe and confess that all born again believers receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit at conversion. Speaking in tongues are not a requirement. The evidence of Holy Spirit is the Fruit of the Spirit, and the power to be a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ: John 3:5, 7:37-39, 14:16, 15:26, Acts 1:8, Rom. 8:9, 1 Cor. 3:16-17, 12:13, 2 Cor. 6:16, Eph. 4:30.

Salvation: We believe and confess that salvation comes by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, and in Christ alone. We are saved only by God’s unmerited favor. We earnestly contend for the faith by opposing all those that would compromise, or add to the finish work of Calvary.

Grace: We believe and confess that grace is the Unmerited Favor of God. All born again believers are sinners saved by God’s grace alone: Eph. 2:1-9

Eternal Security: We believe and confess in the security of the believer. The believer is forever secured in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. John 10:1-30, 1 Cor. 3:10-15,

The Full Gospel: We believe and confess that the full Gospel of Jesus Christ is His death, burial, and resurrection. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation: Rom. 1:16

The Great Commission: We believe that the great commission is to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every person, race, and country: Mt. 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, 4:12, Rom 1:16.

Water Baptism: We believe and confess that water baptism is a sacrament “ordinance” of the New Testament, instituted by the Lord. The Lord Jesus instructed that baptism is to be in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Baptism is not a requirement for salvation: Mt. 28:18-20

Communion: We believe and confess that the Lord Jesus instituted Communion. The outward elements in the Holy Communion are to be bread, wine, or grape juice. The bread represents the broken Body of Christ, and the wine, or grape juice represents the Blood of Christ. Communion at Rock Fellowship is open to all born again believers.

Worship: We believe that worship offered to God should come from the heart. Worship should be inspirational. Therefore; we give great place to music in our worship. Our worship is to be intelligent and in order. Our Church services are designed with great emphasis upon the written Word of God.

The Rapture: We believe in the rapture of the Church: 1 Thess. 4:16-18

Abortion: Rock Fellowship takes a pro-life position. We oppose abortion on demand.

Alternative Life Style: God’s will is for a woman and man to be one through marriage. Anyone that is active within the alternative life style “gay, bisexual, or lesbian” cannot hold a position, or have membership with this church:

Positive Confession: We totally reject the heresy, which is called “positive confession.” This is the false doctrine put forth by the Word Faith Movement. They teach that we, as humans, can have unlimited health and wealth because we, like God, have the ability to create our own reality by the confession of our lips. The health and prosperity doctrine is a out right perversion of scripture “often used to fleece the Body of Christ.” We do not believe that God can be commanded by man to heal, or provide, but that we must always submit to His perfect will even in affliction, or persecution.

Oneness Pentecostalism: We totally reject the Oneness Pentecostal Movement. Asking all those that are involved to reexamine their positions with the written Word of God:

Heresy In General: We totally reject snake handling, drinking of poison, soul sleep, water baptism for the dead, baptismal regeneration, animal sounds in worship, new revelation, Christians being demon possessed, Word Faith, Oneness Pentecostalism, Mormonism, Jehovah Witness doctrine, and Christian Science doctrine:

The Devil: We believe that there is a personal devil called Satan. Satan and his demons are destined to spend eternity in the lake of fire.
