Summary: Momiji Fujiyama always thought she was an ordinary schoolgirl. That changed when Mamoru Kusanagi, a man with special armaments called mitama, comes into her life to protect her from plant-like monsters called Aragami. Momiji is supposed to sacrificed to them in order to stop them from attacking the city, but she's not going to just sit there and let these monsters take her like they did her twin sister, Kaede. She joins the TAC, a military organization set up by Tokyo's government to secretly deal with this crisis.

The Good:Lots of action and a fast-paced plot. The story is intriguing and has a great heroine. The artwork is excellent.

The Bad:At times, you may have trouble understanding the story.

Offensive Material:There's some bad language and mildly graphic violence. Mamoru Kusanagi is quite perverted for a hero and spends more time molesting Momiji than protecting her. Also, the extras include fan service shorts called "Omake Theater", some of which contain slight sexual humor. In volume 3, a new villain is introduced named Susanna-Oh. This is an infant Aragami who is worshipped by the villains as a god. This may seem anti-Christian to some parents.

Overall:Blue Seed is a great series. It's got a great plot and keeps you guessing.

My Rating: (out of 4)3.5Age Rating:C (Caution. Teens Only)

Note:Blue Seed is based on the manga of the same name. Yuzo Takeda also created 3x3 Eyes. There's also a movie called Blue Seed Beyond which is a sequel to the series.
