Title: Blue Seed Beyond

Genre: Sci-Fi/Horror

Creator/Studio: Yu Takeda/Takeshobo

DVD Info: 1 hour, 40 minutes. (divided into 3 OVA episodes)

Company: ADV

Summary: A new breed of Aragami is attacking San Francisco and the TAC is called in to investigate. They also meet a new character, a half-Aragami, half-human named Valencia. But is she ally or adversary?

The Good: The story was ok, and it was nice to see the old cast again.

The Bad: What could've been better is ruined by fan service and poor storytelling, and less fun. My main beef is the fan service. While the fan service in Blue Seed was avoidable by simply not watching the Omake theatre, this isn't the case here.

Offensive Material: some graphic violence and we also see Valencia in a fully-detailed nude transformation. With green nipples no less.

Overall: Even though I liked the original Blue Seed tv series, I'd have to say you should pass on this one and stick to the original version.

My review: 2.5 Category: C (Caution. Recommended for ages 13 and up)

Comments: This is a direct-to-video sequel to the original Blue Seed series. Yu Takeda also created 3X3 Eyes.
