Title: Case Closed (a.k.a. Detective Conan)
Genre: Mystery/Comedy
Creator/Studio: Goshi Aoyoma/Tokyo Movie Shinsa
Company: FUNimation
DVD Info: 350+ TV episodes, 6+ movies, 6+ DVD sets, released in "season sets"
Summary: A teenage detective who knows too much is forced to take an experimental drug that reverts him into childhood. Can he still fight crime and find a cure?
The Good: The show's similar to Donald J. Sobol's Encyclopedia Brown books. It's fun to play detective along with Conan.
The Bad: The old-school art style's liable to deter some viewers. So might its childish nature.
Offensive Material: Some alcohol and cigarette use. Mild violence, especially some rather vicious murder scenes.
Overall: If you like Encyclopedia Brown, Nancy Drew, or Hardy Boys, this is a great show. The more "serious" otakus might think it's too childish. It almost doesn't belong on Adult Swim.
My Review: 3.0 Category: B (Borderline. Parental Guidance suggested)Note: This is based on the manga Detective Boy Conan. It's the longest anime series to date. The manga is published in America by Viz. Other Tokyo Movie Shinsa titles include: Magic Knight Rayearth and Sonic X.
