Creator/Studio: Hiroyuki Monoka/Sunrise
Company: Bandai
DVD Info: 13 episodes, 4 DVD's
Summary: Humanity is allied with the Abh Empire. But this alliance is really a cover for conquest--the empire has taken over Earth. Rock Lin is the new "puppet"-ruler, and a human named Jinto, is prince. Jinto meets an Abh princess named Lafiel. They slowly become literally star-crossed lovers amidst an environment preparing for war.
The Good: Nice animation with a classic feel to it. The story is a sci-fi version of Romeo and Juliet
The Bad: Not much action. It's also kind of mushy.
Offensive Material: Some very mild language, violence, and brief nudity. The Abh are very advanced in genetic engineering.
Overall: Crest of the Stars is a very sweet series. I highly recommend it.
My Review: (out of 4) 3.5
Category: B (Borderline. Parental Guidance suggested)
Note: This series is based on Hiroyuka Monoka's novels. Banner of the Stars is a sequel to this series. Tokyopop publishes a manga version as well.
