Title: Neon Genesis Evangelion: End of Evangelion
Company: Manga
Summary: In this final chapter of the Neon Genesis Evangelion saga, the Human Instrumentality Project has begun. Will humanity defeat the angels, or has Armageddon arrived?
The Good: I was disappointed with the way the TV series ended. It didn't really provide closure. This movie does a better job of telling you how the story really ended.
The Bad: The story really needs an open mind to be truly appreciated. Also, it starts out with the first half hour of the other Evangelion movie, Death and Rebirth, which is really just a clip show of the series itself.
Offensive Material: This movie has it all: Anti-Christian symbolism, graphic violence, breif nudity, and sexuality. I urge all those with weak faith to not watch this or the series.
Overall: End of Evangelion is the proper ending of the controversial series. It is difficult to recommend this to fellow Christians, but if you are strong in the faith and mature enough to handle the story, it is a good one.
My Review: 3.0 Category: D (Danger. Not recommended for children or teenagers)
Comment: Manga also has the first Evangelion movie, Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death and Rebirth. The TV series is carried by ADV. The manga version, which is somewhat different from the TV series, is carried by Viz. ADV also has a manga called Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days, which is an "alternate universe" version of the anime. Other Gainax title include: FLCL, MAgical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Wings of Honnemaise, Nadia of the Blue Water, and Mahromatic.
