Title:Gadguard
Genre:Sci-fi
Creator:Studio Gonzo and Yoshitsune Izuna
Company:Geneon
DVD Info:26 episodes, 7 volumes
Summary: Hajiki Sanada is a poor boy living in Night Town. One day, he discovers a "Gad" stone that is actually a Techode--a robot that embodies the will of whomever it bonds to. He calls it Lightning. And that's just episode one! Four other kids also have Techodes.
The Good: Like many titles from Studio Gonzo, this has a great blend of CG animation and traditional animation. It invokes the fun of Gigantor and The Iron Giant.
The Bad:Why are most of the kids wearing flashy superhero outfits? They seem out of place.
Offensive Material:Mild violence and language. Hajike's boss smokes cigarettes.
Overall:If you liked The Iron Giant, then you'll probably like this series. I recommend it.
