Title: Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence
Genre: Sci-fi
Creator/Studio: Masamune Shirow/Production IG
DVD Info: 1 hour, 40 minutes
Company: Dreamworks
Summary: In this sequel to the movie version of Ghost in the Shell, Batou and Togusa investigate murders committed by robots. COmplicating matters is that fact that Motoko has all but disappeared.
The Good: This is impressive work! It has some of the best CG I've seen and is actually better than the TV series, which is quite a feat. The story is well-told and the score is mesmerizing.
The Bad: I wish Motoko had been in it longer. She is truly the heart and soul of Ghost in the Shell to me, so I felt her not being in this was kind of a minus.
Offensive Material: Some agnostic philosophy, some graphic violence and language, and some undetailed nudity.
Overall: I highly recommend this to any fan of the Ghost in the Shell saga. I enjoyed it immensely.
My Review: (Out of 4) 3.5 Category: C (Caution. NOt recommended for those under 13)
Comment: Ghost in the Shell is also available from Dark Horse in manga format. Shirow also created Dominion Tank Police and Appleseed. Production I.G. also created Patlabor, and IGPX.
