Title: Mew Mew Power

Genre: Superhero/Comedy

Creator/Studio: Kodansha/TV Aichi

DVD Info: 52 episodes, no DVD info yet

Summary: Five girls--Zoey, Corrina, Bridget, Kiki, and Renee--have been injected with the DNA of endangered animals. They are also gifted with magical powers. They use both gifts to fight "Predacytes", aliens who infuse themselves into animals, turning them into monsters.

The Good: If you miss Sailor Moon and Cardcaptors being on TV, this may be a good alternative.

The Bad: It's got way too many cliches. Somewhat brave leader? Check. Snobby rich girl? Check. Cute guy alert? Check. Celebrity member? Check. Clutz? Check. Stupid catch phrase? Check. ("Mew Mew style/Mew Mew Mew grace/Mew Mew Power/In your face" ugh!)

Offensive Material: Light violence and magical weaponry.

Overall: What separates this from all the other magical girl cartoons out there? Nothing. Sailor Moon had the romance. Cardcaptors had an admirable heroine who never knew when to quit. This show doesn't appear to have anything special.
