Title: Outlaw Star
Genre: Sci-fi/Fantasy
Creator/Studio: Sunrise
Company: Bandai
DVD info: 26 episodes, 3 2-disc sets.
Summary: Gene Starwind and his potty-mouthed kid partner Jim Hawkins are hired by "Ice" Hilda, a space outlaw, to protect her and and mysterious girl named Melfina from other space pirates who want them--dead or alive. Hilda is searching for the Galactic Layline, a place where a great treasure is supposed to be found.
The Good: This show is just plain funny! Some moments had me burst out laughing. The action is great and I love the opening theme, "Through the Night".
The Bad: Jim Hawkins's English VA is kind of annoying at times.
Offensive Material: This show contains some mildly graphic violence, magic, and nudity. There's also some suggestive dialogue and bad language. Oh, and one of the characters is gay, but nothing else is said or explored.
Overall: I can't believe I missed this program on Cartoon Network. This is a great action comedy in the vein of Cowboy Bebop. If you like comedy, I highly recommend it.
My Review: 4.0 Category: C
Comment: There is also a spin-off called Angel Links.Other Sunrise titles include Big O,the Gundam franchise, Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, and Armored Troopers Votoms.
