Title: Project A-ko

Genre: Superhero/Comedy

DVD Info: 1 hr., 26 min.

Distributor: CPM Media

Creators:Katsuhiko Nishijima, Kazumi Shiraishi, Yuji Moriyama/NEXTART

Summary: A-ko is the implied daughter of Superman and Wonder Woman. She and her friend C-ko, are about to start their high school careers in Graviton City. Unfortunately, they meet B-ko, an old rival who wants to unearth the hatchet. She wants A-ko dead because she believes it’s the only way she can befriend with C-ko. She spends most of the movie making robots which are humorously destroyed by A-ko. (One robot is actually just tripped!) An alien fleet has also invaded Earth’s atmosphere, looking for their lost princess, and they think C-ko may be her.

The Good: Lots of laughs here. This is great for fans of Justice League, Batman: The Animated Series, or any other cartoons of the genre. The Bad: There are a few in-jokes you may not get if you haven’t watched enough anime.

Offensive Material: The violence is mostly slapstick and typical superhero stuff. A-ko does manage to get her cheek cut during a sword duel, but that’s it for the blood. The aliens are supposedly female, but look more like men.

Overall: This is a very funny movie and certainly one to let the kids watch. Those who love superhero cartoons will certainly enjoy it.

My Rating (out of 4): 3.5 Category: B (Borderline. Parental guidance suggested)

Note: This is the first of six movies featuring these characters. However, the last two movies have a dramatically different concept from the rest.
