Title: Rave Master

Creator: Hiro Mishima/Studio Deen

DVD Info: 51 episodes, 8 DVD's

Summary: A boy named Haru must find the magical Rave Stones and use them to defeat the Shadow Stones. He uses a magical sword called the Dekka Force Sword to channel the Rave Stones' powers. Helping him are a girl named Ellie and a creature known as the Ravebearer (which Haru names Plue), who can find the Rave Stones. Complicating his quest is the evil Shadow Guard, who control the Shadow Stones.

The Good: It does a great job of filling you in on the story so far. Great art and humor, as well as a good story.

The Bad: Okay, I'll say it. What kind of genius names the hero's hometown Hip Hop Town? That's the dumbest name since the Tick's hometown ("The City"). Other than that, I like this show.

Offensive Material: Some mild violence.

Overall: This show's cool, with a great Final Fantasy feel to it. And you gotta love the theme songs by Reel Big Fish and Jennifer Paige. (Who says only J-pop artists get to do anime themes?)

My Review: 4.0 Category: B (Borderline. Parental guidance suggested.)

Note: Rave Master is also available as a manga from Tokyopop as well. Other Studio Deen titles include: Ranma 1/2, Maisson Ikkoku and Fruits Basket.
