Summary: Tenchi is a boy who has five girls living in his house with him, each vying for his affection: Ayeka, the princess of the Jirai empire; her sister Sasami; Ryoko, the dreaded space pirate; the inept Galaxy Policewoman Mihoshi; and Washuu, the most brilliant scientist in the universe. Also on hand for the sake of cute is the creature known as Ryo-oki, a half-cat, half-rabbit that can transform into a spacecraft. And let’s not forget Tenchi’s sometimes-clueless dad and his cool grandpa, who is a Shinto priest.

The Good: Lots of humor and action. These characters are very enjoyable. The Bad: The fact that there’s more than one version of the Tenchi Muyo storyline might confuse newbies.

Offensive Material: Occasionally, there’s some sexual humor, but it’s rather light. There’s also some references to Shintoism.

Overall: The Tenchi Muyo saga is one of the most popular anime series ever made, and its easy to see why. This is a great series.
