Title: Trinity Blood

Genre: Sci-fi/Horror

Creator/Studio: Sunao Yoshida/Gonzo

DVD Info: 24 episodes

Company: FUNimation

Summary: In a probable future, a vampire priest named Abel Nightroad, who can actually drink vampires' blood, fights for the Vatican againt the evil Tsuala Metoseroute (Empire of the New Breed). If that wasn't enough, he also has to battle the Order of the Rosen Kreuz, who may have his brother in their ranks.

The Good: Want a bone-chilling story? You got it! Want good artwork? You got that, too. Abel ais a good hero and somewhat reminscent of Vash the Stampede from Trigun, except he's not quite as pacifist.

The Bad: The opening and closing don't give enough time to enjoy the music.

Offensive Material: Like most horror, this series has blood and gore. Some nudity and occult themes. It has a very inaccurate depiction of Catholicism.

Overall: This is a pretty intriguing series so far. Although I find the depiction of Catholicism appalling, I can overlook it since the Japanese society isn't Christian.

My Review: 3.0 Category: D

Comment: Tokyopop publishes the manga. Other Gonzo titles include: Gadguard, Last Exile, and Samurai 7.
