Genre: Fantasy/Comedy
Creator/Studio: Makoto Raiku/Toei
Company: Viz
DVD Info: 79+ episodes, 1+ volumes
Summary: Kiyomaro is too cool for school, literally. In fact, Kiyo is so arrogant and smart that no one cares if he goes or not. Life's pretty boring. That is, until his father sends him a mamodo (kinda looks like a ventriloquist dummy) named Zatch. Zatch has a book of spells with him and is competing with 100 other mamodos to rule his world. Life's about to get interesting.
The Good: This is one zany show! The laughs just keep coming. I love the scene in episode 3 when Kiyo makes a "robot" out of a biscuit box and toothpicks for Zatch to play with!
The Bad: It seems a bit juvenile, so expect some jabs from the snobs.
Offensive Material: Usage of magic and mild violence.
Overall: This is a nice mix of Harry Potter and Dragonball. I love it.
My Review: 4.0 Category: B (Borderline)
Note: Toei Studios also animated Dragonball, One Piece, and Sailor Moon. Tokyopop publishes the manga.
