Title: Case Closed
Genre: Mystery
Creator: Gosho Aoyama
Company: Viz
Publisher Info: 4+ volumes
Summary: Jimmy Kudo is a budding teen detective and his school's best soccer player. When he tails two mobsters, they slip him a poison and turn him into a kid. Now he has to solve crimes as a kid in the hopes of reverting the transformation.
The Good: Like the anime, the series is fun and fast-paced. You can play detective along with Conan. Aoyama even recommends different mystery writers!
The Bad: It can get kind of tedious. But on the whole, it's pretty good.
Offensive Material: Some mild violence and language.
Overall: If you like the Case Closed anime series or mysteries like Encyclopedia Brown, the Hardy Boys, or Nancy Drew, I highly recommend this book. It's fun to play detective with the story.
My Review: 3.0 Category: B
Note: Case Closed is also available as an anime from FUNimation. The anime is still airing on TV in Japan, and is part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block.
