Title: Cowboy Bebop

Genre: Sci-fi/Comedy

Creators: Bones Studio

Story and Art: Yutaka Tanten

Company: Tokyopop

Publisher Info: 3 volumes, authentic

Summary: Meet the crew of the spaceship Bebop: there's ex-Mafia hitman Spike, ex-space policeman Jet, forever-in-debt gambler Faye, and a teenage girl hacker named Ed. And let's not forget their little data dog, Ein. Their mission: Put food on the table by catching bounties.

The Good: The artwork is similar to the anime and the stories seem like they could mix in well (Instead of giving you the same story as the anime, Nanten has decided to do original stories)

The Bad: The episodic approach misses something the original TV series had: back stories. If you've never watched the anime, you won't learn anything about the characters.

Offensive Material: Mild language, violence, and sexual humor.

Overall: I prefer the anime version, but this is good if you're already familiar with it. Otherwise, watch the anime first.

My Review: 3.0 Category: C

Comment: This is inspired by the Cowboy Bebopanime carried by Bandai. Tokyopop also has another Cowboy Bebop manga called Cowboy Bebop: Shooting Star, which is written and drawn by Cain Kuga.
