Publisher info: 28 volumes
Summary: Himora Kenshin was once known during the Meiji Revolution as the "Hitokiri Battosi" or "Man-Slayer". But after the new Meiji Era was established, he became a wanderer. He reversed the blade of his sword, vowing to never kill again and protect the weak and oppressed.
The Good: The manga insists on using honorifics and keeping the names "reversed" ("Smith John" not "John Smith") making it a more authentic translation. The artwork is very nice. I also like how Watsuki-sensai introduces each character, telling you how he came up with them.
The Bad: I felt the anime handled some of the events better. For example, when Kaoru won Yahiko's freedom in the anime, she does so with a rigged dice game. In the manga, it's Kenshin who frees him.
Offensive Material: Mild violence and language.
Overall: Himora Kenshin is one of my all-time favorite anime heroes. Although I prefer the anime over the manga, I enjoy both.
My Review: 4.0 Category: B
Comment: Rurouni Kenshin is available in anime from Media Blasters. There's also a series of OVAs called Samurai X from ADV, which is set before the manga.
