THE PHOTOGRAPH ABOVE RESULTED IN MYSELF AND THE ROCK WHO TOOK IT BEING CHARGED. I think it was John Simcock.
THE REASON BEING THAT WHILST THE PHOTO WAS BEING TAKEN, WE HAD PUT MEDICAL STAFF'S LIVES AT RISK
THE ROCKS WE LEFT BEHIND
Some lucky beggers, who drew the short straw, actually got to sail home with the Royal Navy on HMS Ark Royal. Those were the last Soldiers off ADEN -- YES THEY WERE ROCKS OF 37F SQDN CATTERICK

Shall I tell you a tail of when men were men
And the Rockapes were always paradin'
Twas a desolate hole, on Arabia's shore
A clapped out volcano called Aden

They sent us here for 2 years at a stetch
To the land where the browns & the blacks are
We'll never be missed as we go round the twist
At RAF station  Khormaksar

We'll slave away from dawn till dusk
Few are happy and most Rocks  are sad men
So roll on the plane & let's all go home
Before we all turn into mad men
