I. Arrival A Gallery, and Inn Wall will be erected near Hastings Field at the Autocrats leisure for the purpose of displaying entrants arms so all may know who has arrived for the tournament. Each entrant may place their Honor Shield on the board provided for this purpose which is affixed to the wall. II. The Helmshau (Helm Show) - 11:30 Each entrant will display their helm, and arms, on a table placed before their groups pavilion. A Marshal/Judge will be posted at each pavilion to assist entrants if necessary. It is customary to display ones helm with Mantle and Crest, and a banner. Each entrant may now retrieve their Honor Shield from the Inn Wall for use in the Helmshau if they so desire. A Honor Shield may be used in place of a banner for economy of space. Set up may start once the pavilions have been erected Wednesday morning. III. Entering Procession - 12:00 The Head Marshal/Knight of Honor, Deputy Marshals, and Chalice King of Arms will enter the List Field first followed by banner bearers caring the banners of the Knight of Honor, Deputy Marshals, and Chalice King of Arms. The procession should file once around the field and end up in front of the Ladies Gallery, then split of to the sides. At this time the Chalice King of Armes will come forth to anounce: "My very redoubted and honored ladies and damsels, behold your humble servant and knight of honor, who has entered the lists ready to do what you have commanded, and behold his helm and crest which you should keep in your scaffold, if it pleases you." At this time the Knight of Honor will come before the Ladies Gallery and hand his helm over to an attendant. Participants Once the officers procession is finished, the participants should enter the field, No OP will be required. The Challengers will enter the field first preceded by their banner bearers and assisted by their retainers, followed by the Defenders preceded by their banner bearers and assisted by their retainers. The speed of march should be slow, so as to provide the heralds time to introduce their participants. There should be only one participant on the field at one time. Please see the next page |
