| VI. Challange at the Barrier Round - 13:00 At the end of The Open Field Challange Round, The King of Arms will cause his trumpeter to sound attention and then he will announce the beginning of the Barrier Round. The King of Arms then tells the Challengers to retire to their side of the field and begin to make their challenges to the noble Defenders. The Ladies Gallery may have a page ask the the participants for certain pairings. The Marshals shall insure that each challenge is fought in good order, until such a time as the King of Arms causes his trumpeter to sound attention and start the next round of the tournament. VII. The Matched Weapons Round - 13:40 At the end of the Barrier Round, The King of Arms will cause his trumpeter to sound attention and then he will announce the beginning of the Matched Weapons Round. The same format is followed as in the prior round. VIII. The Grand Melee - 14:00 At the end of the Matched Weapons Round, the King of Arms will cause his trumpeter to sound attention and then announce the beginning of the Grand Melee. The Grand Melee will be a resurrection team round, each team will be formed under one participants banner. The size an scope of each team is up to the participants, keeping in mind that the idea is not to make a super Duke team, or conscripting the local shield wall. Knights may have their squires, or men at arms fight for them if thier fighters meet the minimum 10-foot rule. The resurrection points for each team will be appointed by the Knight of Honor. After the first five minutes of fighting, the King of Arms will cause his trumpeter to sound attention, and this will be the signal for no further resurrections. At this time any team without a banner will be asked to quit the field. Each team must carry the banner of thier leader. The melee will be over once all but one team has been defeated. Any team member may pick up their teams banner, and their will be no banner gaurding of other teams banners. IX. Awards Ceremony - 14:20 An Awards Ceremony will be held immediately after the Grand Melee |
