When the kids leave home........
it's actually kind of FUN

What's it like to have all the children gone?
Well sometimes parents worry about the "shock" of being alone again!
How will we ever cope?
Will we find something to talk about besides the kids?
Will we be lonesome?
This could be a major point in our life. When our last child leaves home, we have to admit we are growing older, maybe even face middle age. We now have gray where there used to be beautiful dark curls, and all our clothes seem to mysteriously have shrunk while we are wearing them.So we send out another box to Good Will.

But there are many positives to having your life and house to yourself, with no guilt either.
The phone doesn't ring past 9 p.m. anymore. To be honest, it hardly ever rings anymore. Unless it's the kids, or a salesman.
The ice box stays full longer.
The police don't call anymore.
I can now program all MY favorite radio stations I like.
We don't have to unclog the drains as much. And our shopping bills are much less.
The bathroom floors are no longer covered with wet towels and 5 different brands of shampoo's. I can actually use the bathroom without someone asking if I'm done yet.
We get to eat out more often now, with no special time to eat.Used to be we had to empty the garbage every day, now we are lucky to take it out 3 times a week.

We find it much more difficult now to stay up past 9 p.m.
And when we do get up, we can wander around in our night clothes
without offending any of children in front of their friends.

Now, onto the subject of pets....Children are always coming home with a new pet.
And they always promise that they will feed,water,walk and clean up after the cute little pet when it has an accident on the floor.
Well,all the impulse pets are gone now. And we even have time now for a new pet of our own.Funny how you seem to talk to your pets as if they were your children!

There is a downside though, that is, we can't blame those annoying habits on the kids anymore. It's perfectly clear that it's our husbands now!

But as you can see there is life after children leave home....
That is, of course, unless they MOVE BACK IN !!!!!!!!
