He arrived in a
box, by courier, to the Christmas Party to everyone's delight.

at the QVMU, Launceston, Tasmania. Mother and fawn doing well.

"The Examiner"
The story so far...
Roger is a reindeer who escaped
from the Theatre North Christmas Party on the 6th of December, 2002. He
wanted his freedom, and was not happy about being shut up in a cupboard for 12
months, only to be brought out again as a 'mascot' a mere 'perpetual trophy' for
the next year's Christmas Party. He sent a note explaining his feelings to
the Theatre North committee membership:
Deer
Theatre North Staff and Committee,
Firstly
I’d like to mention how much I enjoyed the Christmas dinner, and for a
little reindeer like me it is an honour to be your Christmas mascot.
The
games were well executed with, of course, the best team winning on the
night.
But
I must say, Theatre North Staff and Committee, the thought of being in a
dark cupboard all year till next Christmas was all a bit too much, and so
with a sniff of the air and the breeze through my grass, you can shove that
dark cupboard fair up your ---- North Pole!
Feel
safe in the knowledge that I am safe and well and will return in time for
the next Christmas dinner.
