Develop trust and confidence ("PREsell") by OVERdelivering relevant, original, high-value information to these motivated pre-customers. In essence we can think of four different types of auto responders:
The one-off courtesy email - as used for an instant response to an order, a customer service enquiry or a subscription to a newsletter A range of messages all building up a tempting, rounded sales effort at selling just one product A similar version of option 2 but with the intention of promoting multiple products - one for each email A course on a topic of relevance to your websites to be sent in parts over a week or two, providing lots of free information whilst gently and subtly working in some soft selling techniques To successfully implement the first autoresponder option we very simply decide what would be useful, helpful and polite for the recipient, then write it. In general these are simply courtesy emails, not intending directly to make sales, but to just build rapport within your organization. Note: Besides using a courtesy email the more upmarket automatic responders will send an optin email to the customer to make sure it is that person subscribing and not just someone using the email addy. Normally you can edit this email to what ever you want. the example below is for those autoresponders that dont have this feature but more on that later. Here's an actual example of an autoresponder message, which is sent out to new subscribers to the Search It newsletter: Dear Russell I'm just dropping you a quick email to let you know that I've received your request to subscribe to our newsletter, and I've added you to our database. If, for any reason, you think you've been added as a result of the malicious use of our signup form - simply click on the blue link at the bottom of this email and our computers will automatically remove you. However... If you *did* mean to subscribe to the Search It newsletter (and I sincerely hope you did!) then you'll receive your first issue of the newsletter on our next publication date. It's great to have you aboard! I hope you find searchIt as valuable as I do I've said it before, but it's worth saying it again. The newsletter thrives because the information we provide is dictated by our visitors. Please take a minute to email me personally with any questions you may have about accepting online payments and I'll do my best to answer them in the newsletter as soon as possible. Thanks again for putting your trust in us :-) It won't be misplaced, I won't sell or give away your email address to anyone else, and I hope you find the newsletter enjoyable and educational. Until our next publication date... All the best, That's all there is to it really. By the way, the words in red have been automatically added by the autoresponder for you. The other three types of autoresponder messages are all intended to sell - and so creating the best results possible really does become vital. So let's examine these other options. [[fIRST Name]] there is much more that you can lean about writing a responder series just use to form below to subscribe and you will receive the first part of a seven part report |
