when I first started this website,every month I'd post soemthing I'd written that I especially liked, these are the ones I still like
What's that in your head, where's it gonna lead you ?
world spinning keeping time, stop lives changing on a dime.
gulfs are growing ever wide,
whats going on with you, does it make sense inside
Emotions are as plain as the look thats on your face
to act aloof, above it all, denying those who come to call
can't cover up your venom.. with dignity, poise and grace.
Your lips are now your canvas, but the painting there can't hide
what's going on with you, what's missing from inside
Another not tied in the rope, keep on going, don't try to cope
scale the mountain, reach the stop, keep pressing onward never stop
carry on, make due, get by, never stop to feel, hurt or cry
what's that in your heart...can you stop the bleeding ?
Hurt flows like a river wide, all the pointless needing
mix solutions stir and swallow, the cocktail doesn't work
ignore deny and live life hollow, just blame the other jerk
Whats that at your hand ? Five fingers that can heal you
just like footprints in the sand, someone will carry you
carry on and wonder why, or change the life you live

To hear others words gives me much to admire
to feel others passion leads to inspire
they all have agenda's and cause to win
but me, I'm just a guy with a pen
a guy with nothing to make him tick
no mission statement or cause politic
a guy with very little life to spend
a guy with out compass, just a guy with a pen
A guy with a pen who is feeling quite blue
cause life hasn't turned out like he wanted it to
Who traded his dreams for what seemed like love
but turned out to be empty promises of
Just lots of frustration and a lay now and then
So here I sit, just a guy with a pen
A guy who likes shopping for toys at walmart
a guy with a very big ache in his heart
a guy who is wondering ,if where or when
He'll ever be more than a guy with a pen
A guy with a pen, but with out any fire
A guy with no dream to urge or inspire
A guy who discovered a very good friend,
who said " I think you're more than a guy with a pen"
She didnt say it with words or nothing like that
but with the charm of a chesire cat
she said it with something not seen in a while
she said it inside of a beautiful smile
so i'm off on this journey, and I hope it will end
with me becoming a more complete man !!!
