General Appearance Hair Color: Pale blonde, nearly white from the sun. Hair Style: Short, falls just to the shoulders, in light layers, with full bangs. Eyes: Sea green, wide. Physical Description: Has only just begun puberty, and hasn't really started to fill out as a woman. She's tall, and gangly for her age, with only the beginnings of breasts and hips. She has a warm, dark tan, and her face is still round with childhood. Wears simple short tunics over leggings with boots normally. Has a few dresses left that aren't completely destroyed. Personality: Ehryl has always had a calming effect on people, despite the fact that she is somewhat tomboyish, and uncertain of herself. She's just becoming a woman, and doesn't really know what it means to be one. She likes learning new things, and is a competent listener, with good memory and problem-solving skills. Can be rambunctious and easily excitable around friends, but when she's new to a place, she is very shy and quiet at first. She doesn't really know what to do around women. Likes: Enjoys the calm rocking of the sea, and warm rain. Loves being with her father on his boat. Dislikes: Crowds, and parties. Tends to get uncomfortable around a lot of women, because she's never really been exposed to them. Doesn't like dressing up because she thinks she looks terrible in gowns. Fears: Afraid of losing her father and brother, who are the only family she has. She's afraid of meeting new people, and is afraid of becoming completely 'girly' when she grows up. Brief History: The only daughter of a salty fisherman. Her mother died in childbirth, leaving her to be raised by her father who raised her the only way he knew how, the same way he raised his son. Spent all of her early life on her father's boat, learning about fishing, and the sea. Her father and brother took care of her and looked after her, even buying her dresses and nice things to wear for celebrations. Ehryl always tended to mess them up though, wearing them as she would regular clothes. They weren’t a rich family, but a happy one, and relatively prosperous fishers. Once she turned eight, She started spending a weekend every season with her father's sister, learning womanly things. Her aunt married a moderately wealthy merchant, so Fisk thought she would be a good female role model for Ehryl, but the girl's attention always wavered. Besides that, she spent almost all of the rest of her time on her father's boat, where wearing a dress and acting proper didn't matter. Her being mage-born was only revealed a month ago, during a particularly nasty storm. She was upset about some nasty things her aunt had said to her, and was adding fuel to the storm, with her angst. During this, she was tossed overboard, hitting her head on the tilting underside of the boat as she fell. It was the interference of one of the Undines that saved her life. The beautiful, mermaid-like water elemental swam her back up to the surface, and dropped her right on deck. When Ehryl opened her eyes again, everyone saw that they had changed from the warm amber that was a family trait, to a bright, sea colored blue-green. Not long after that she was sent the letter. Although it has torn Ehryl apart, having to leave her family, she also seriously wants to pursue her training, because she knows it's the only way she could have ever had this kind of an education. Her father took time out from his fishing schedule to sail to the main city of Manon to catch the ship to Salinis Isle. |
