She knows that she's talented, and more then a little bitter that she's going to the mage school because it took away from her training to become an actress. Her mother was rather inebriated at an afterparty for an especially well received play. Not wanting to lose her carreer, Amelia continued working in the playhouse throughout her pregnancy, then after her birth. Shalycia grew in the world of the theater, knowing that it was the path she wanted to take. She loved every aspect of it, from the lowliest costume seamstress to being the star on stage. Shalycia showed a lot of promise with her acting ability, but it was her voice that stunned nearly every crowd. It was after one such performance that she first saw the airy creature in the crowd. It wasn't long before everywhere she looked she saw a beautiful winged Creature nearly every time she turned her head. It didn't last but a few days, however, and when it was over she wasn't sure if she should tell anyone or not. It was during a talk with an actor friend that she confessed seing the creature. The man was shocked and told her that the creature must have been a fairy. Not knowing what the significance was, she pressed the man furthur until he told her about his great grandfather who was an air mage. The man himself did not know too much about magick, but knew enough to know that when someone was visited by an elemental it meant that they had the magick in them. Shocked to the core Shalycia told her mother who quickly moved to enroll her in the mage school. Shalycia believes with all her heart that her mother was so quick to send her because she was afraid of the fact that Shalycia was becmoing a great actress and outshining her.
