SEXING EARED PHEASANTS
Years ago we purchased one pair and one trio of Blue Eared from two different individuals and after close inspection at home we found that what we actually had was five males.  We have found that many people mistaken the hens spurs as that of the male by the length of the spur and not the shape at the base.  The hen will always have an oval shape to her spur be it long or short.  We have had them with one long spur on one leg, and one short spur on the other leg.  This has been true in the Blue, Brown, & White Eared that we have. The male as a rule has a longer spur and thicker longer legs.  He can be somewhat larger than the hen and also have a wider skull cap (ear to ear) than his mate.
The below photos are of the Blue & Brown Eared females.
THE MALE EARED
Not much to say other than they are very round in shape at the base of the spur and depict both Blue & Brown Eared males.
