Course Description
Computer Applications/Operations introduces computer technology, computer processing concepts and operation principles, teaching the basic use of computer software programs. Various types of computer programs are employed, including word processing, spreadsheets and database management. Appropriate software is used to write and edit letters, make labels, mark file lists, format business forms, mail merge, spell check and proofread. The basic software targeted is Microsoft Office 2000 Professional. Computer competence is now a basic job skill. Advanced technology has caused the personal computer to be easily available to businesses, small and large, for use in all aspects of record keeping. By learning the three basic types of software, the student will be able to access a wide range of job opportunities.
