At Colorado Aikido Academy, the pursuit of Budo (Martial Way) and the development of Ki are accomplished through training in traditional waza (techniques), but with the focus on practical use. Our aim is to allow the students, through instruction and practice, to make the techniques their own.
Colorado Aikido Academy is a member of American Society of Combat Martial Artists (ASCMA) a division of Ryo-Shi Ryu Bujutsu Kai. This organization was created by Soke Amos Hunter, 10th Dan, founder and head instructor of Oh Do Mu Sul. Oh Do Mu Sul is a street effective combative martial art.
The purpose for ASCMA is to provide martial art instructors with an organization which will recognize rank promotions and provide it's instructors with the opportunity of advancement without undo political influence. ASCMA is there to support both the traditional as well as the American based martial art styles of self defense.
Instructors within this organization comes from various backgrounds and are ranked in martial arts including: Aikido, Jujitsu, Oh Do Mu Sul (Hapkido), Aiki-Jujitsu, Kenpo, Kenpo Jitsu, Goju Shorei Weapons System, and Kendo.
