Here is the motor before is was removed from the parts Jeep.  The frame on the parts Jeep was way beyond restoration.  The  motor had some incorrect parts on it, for  example, the cylinder head and dip stick tube assembly.  If I'm reading the numbers properly, this block was cast on January 30, 1942.  The motor # is 121884.

Here is the motor as of Feb. 25, 2002.  It is almost complete, minus oil filter, fuel pump, a new fan belt and a few odds and ends.  I can hardly wait to sit it on the frame and fire it up.
