John Foster Maddox traveled to Drumwright, Oklahoma to try his hand at oil production.
Foster took these photographs and made notations on some of them.

"This is another one of our wells. We are pulling the casing and are going to shorten it. Wish you could see it."
"This is one of the wells where I work. It sets on a high hill. There is a little man standing on a large rock on the hill side.

"This is the gasoline plant on the lease where I work. There is 13 wells on this lease and they make from 1500-2000 gallons of gasoline every 24 hours from the gas to the wells."
