This photograph is from an album that was originally owned by Sarah Ann (Sadie) Maddox Shields. The above pictured would be her uncle. The album was then passed to her daughter, Olive Shields McCaffery. After the death of Olive the album was in the possession of William Roll and Treva Maretta Bedwell Maddox. Before the death of Treva Maddox the album was given to Bryon Thomas Maddox. It remains in his possession. This album contains more pictures that were taken in Falls City, Nebraska. William McKendree Maddox was born August 15, 1823 in Highland County, Ohio. He died September 5, 1906 in Falls City, Richardson County, Nebraska. He is buried in Archer Cemetery, Falls City, NE.
For his first wife, William McKendree Maddox married Mary Catherine Miller. Mary was born April 13, 1837 in Cumberland County, Kentucky-the daughter of John C. Miller and Elizabeth Campbell. She died January 10, 1873 in Richardson County, Nebraska.
William McKendree Maddox and Mary Catherine Miller had the following children:

3) William Maddox
4) Dora Maud Maddox
5) Eva Maddox
6) Mary Maddox
7) Laura Maddox
For his second wife, William McKendree Maddox married Mary Jane Minor-the daughter of Marquis Minor and Sarah Pitman. Mary Jane Minor was born October 2, 1833 in Ohio. She died December 30, 1906 in Falls City, Richardson County, Nebraska. William McKendree and Mary Jane Minor had the following children:
