MADDOX FAMILY HISTORY
After her stint as a teacher, Stella enrolled in the Soper School Of Oratory in Chicago. Upon completion, she hired three other very talented women and started the Stella Leach McCaslin Concert Company. They traveled around the country showing off their talents in music, singing whistling and dramatic reading.

Later she would perform solo as
"Stella Leach McCaslin - dramatic and humorous reader."
Stella Leach married John W. McCaslin July 1, 1896 in Wells County, Indiana.

John was born in October of 1870 in Indiana. (possibly Valparaiso) His parents and family are unknown at this time.
J.W. McCaslin was an artist, penman and card writer located in Valparaiso, Indiana in 1893.























By June of 1900, the Federal Census has Stella & John living in Chicago, Cook Co., IL. She was 27, he was 30.

They resided at 555 E., 51st Boulevarde, Chicago, Illinois in the Hyde Park district. John W. McCaslin became partner in the "Hunt & McCaslin Studio" at 7 East Monroe Street in Chicago.
