This is a grat alternative venue to go if, like me, you hate travelling to Wembley Arena. It's slightly smaller & there aren't huge queues at the merchandise stalls & drinks don't cost the equivilent of a mortage payment.

There were 2 support bands on tonight. The first being Polysics. I didn't know a lot about them except they're from Japan. I still don't know a lot about them as I was in the Wimpy down the road eating a classic grill during their set (it was very nice!)

Other support act was Graham Coxon. He was way better than I expected. I know a few of his songs & have one album but after tonight I may investigate further! The crowd gave him a great reception which is pretty rare for support acts.

The Kaisers arrived onstage in yet another different way to how I'd seen them previously -
here, here & here (nearly!). This time a curtain brandishing the initials KC came around the stage. As the opening bit of Everyday I Love You Less & Less came on red lights flashed through, then it opened to reveal Ricky standing at the top of a flight of stairs looking rather pleased with himself!

I think, through no fault of their own, the Kaisers have lost some potential worthwhile fans yet gained some naff ones. Certainly since I've been following them I've noticed the audiences changing from mainly indie fans to, dare I say it Chavs who have heard them on Capital radio. Because of this I know a few "real" music lovers have dismissed them already as flash in the pans. If I had the money I would pay for those people to all come & watch them live *. They are spectacular. Until you have seen them you can't imagine how good a show they put on.

They showcased 3 new songs which will be on the new album. Judging by the fan reaction on their message board they haven't gone down too well. Too "samey" I saw a lot of people say. Well, HELLO don't you like them because they have a certain sound? God forbid all bands should do a Radiohead Kid A on us! I liked the new stuff as first listens go & I'm sure it was a welcome release for them to get to play something different for once!

He did the usual standing on the front row barrier & a new one of singing Caroline, Yes from a podium at the back of the arena which was great for the poor sods at the back! Some lucky girl called Rachel got pulled out to be serenaded & danced with during You Can Have It All which looked great with the pink lighting to accompany it.

All in all a pretty faultless show. As I always say I am picky with setlist orders & would still play I Predict A Riot last & not end the main set with Take My Temperature (a vinyl b-side of theirs) but that's just me.

Looking forward to the new album & subsequent tour!
