Movie Review
Kate & Leopold; A Romantic Comedy about Love and Time
This summer I rented the movie Kate & Leopold.  The video actually came out during June of 2002; however, I was unable to see it until this summer.  I enjoyed the movie very much and would recomment it to anyone.  This Miramax film stars Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman who play the main characters Kate and Leopold and is very easy to understand.  This 108-minute movie is a romantic comedy about two strangers that meet in New York City; however, one is from a hundred years ago.  Leopold is the Third Duke of Albany from the 19th century while Kate is a 20th century city girl  both of them were looking for love and a twist of fate landed Leopold in New York a hundred years later; Kate's ex-boyfriend discovered a portal in time and he accidentally brouth Leo, his great great grandfather, to his time.
The soundtrack in this movie is so great the Sting's song "until" was awarded Best Song in the 2002 Golden Globes and was nominated for Best Song in the 74th Annual Academy awards.  Meg Ryan's acting was very good in
Kate & Leopold, where she played a main character.  She also played in French Kiss, Sleepless in Seattle, and You've Got Mail (to name a few of the many) where her acting is just as incredible as it was in this movie.  Her talented and comedic acting shows in each and every one of these movies.
James Mangold, who directed a series of other movies including
Oliver and Company (1988), Girl Interrupted (1999(, and Identity (2003), was the director for this movie.  It is rated PG-13, for some brief strong language, and is intended mainly for young adults and adults.
I liked this movie tremendously and give it an overall rating of 4 stars out of 5.  If you have not seen
Kate & Leopold I would recommend that you take a few dollars out of your wallet and rent it from your local video store.  It will be well worth your money.
