CREATIVE MOVEMENT~ This is ballet for the little kids. Since 3~6 year old bodies are not yet ready for the work of actual ballet, Creative Movement starts them off. At ages 6 and 7 they move up to Preparatory Ballet, and then, finally, regular ballet training. MODERN~ Modern dance is an expressive dance form, similar to ballet and jazz. The movements are expressive and supple, and creative with the use of the floor. LYRICAL~ Lyrical is, is some ways, a combination of ballet, jazz, and modern. It has the expressiveness of modern, precussion from jazz, and the balletic line ot soften the other two. JAZZ~ Jazz is a fun, lively form of dance and is used a lot in musical theatre. TAP~ Tap, as you probably already know, is a dance form with those special tap shoes. It is fast and requires a lot of coorination. FUNK~ Funk is a combination of jazz and hip-hop. I have never tried it, but it sounds fun. BALLROOM~ Sounds easy? It's not. Ballroom takes as many years and as much hard work as ballet to properly master this art. CHARACTER~ Charater is a part of ballet training. It is an ethnic style of dancing widely used in the classical ballets. SWING~ "I put the GRRRRRRRR in Swinger, Baby!" Swing was a style of dance that was introduced some decades ago. Its is fast, fun, and is to an excellent kind of music- What else? Swing COLOR GUARD~ This is a dance form using flags to create interesting and colorful patterns when done by a team. TWIRLING~ Baton Twirling is not quite as simple as it sounds. This, too, is done by a team. CHEER~ Cheerleading, also known as "pom" or "cheer" is a dance form, belive it or not. Hey Cheerleaders, you dance right? They do...a lot. In half-time, on the sidelines, at competitions.... LITURGICAL~ Liturgical is very religious, very spiritual. It is done not for the purpose of entertainment, but to glorify God.
