This page is devoted to my literary obsession: Harry Potter. To anyone who STILL hasn't read the books or seen the movies: GO DO IT!!!! But don't read the rest of this page, as it may contain spoilers. Harry Potter, the young boy-wizard who was created by genius (and multi-millionaire) Joanne Rowling, is now available in the form of book, movie, audio tape, candy, and almost everything else possibly sold at a bookstore. Since the introduction of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" (Or "Sorceror's Stone, in America), Potter-mania has swept the globe, which has shown itself in the arrival of the fifth installment, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". Of the four published books, "Philosopher's Stone" and "Chamber of Secrets" have been made into feature films, sweeping box office records. "Prisoner of Azkaban" is currently being filmed, and set for release in Summer 2004. This book has some of my favourite characters, including everyone's favorite convicted murderer, Sirius Black, and the love of my literary life, werewolf and mentor Professor Remus J. Lupin. What does the "J" stand for? We may never know. For those who have not yet read the newest book in the series, RUN, don't walk, to your nearest bookstore, and pick up "Order of the Phoenix." I'm still recovering from it, but it is absolutely indescribably amazing. Score one more for Rowling! And congrats on the new baby, David. |
