Harvey Mullins was born in Wise County Virginia in 1837. He was the son of James and Sarah Mullins. I believe that this James Mullins was the son of James Booker Mullins and Nancy Stanley., James may have married twice. Harvey is listed in 1850 Russell County Census records, in the household of Nancy Mullins, she is 61 years old. listed also are Wiley, age 21: Heishell, age 20: Moses, age 16: Crocket, age 13: and Harvey, age 13. Since Crocket and Harvey are the same age, I believe that Harvey may have been a nephew of Nancy's or Ambrose's. Most likely Nancy's
Harvey first married Hulda Mullins, she was the daughter of William "Bresh" Mullins and Juda "Osbourn" Mullins. After he married Hulda, he moved to Buchanan County. They are listed in the 1860 Buchanan County census, living in her father's household. They have one child, Sarah, age 7 months. By 1880 they had several children, they are listed below.
Harvey married second, Mary Ann Rowe, daughter of Jacob and Sarah "Sweeney" Rowe. They were married November, 20, 1888, in McDowell County West Virginia. He states his age as 52 and Mary Ann is 29. They had at least six children. They are listed below. Their daughter Alafair was my husband's grandmother |
