                       "Lovelines"

On Wednesday, November 8 I was an audience member of the show "Lovelines."  It was a show put on by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's TV10, a student run television station.   The main issue the show discussed was sex.  I believe sex can be an uncomfortable subject to talk about, but the show proved it wasn't so bad.   I thought the show was interesting to watch and be a part of.

Seeing the show behind the scenes was a neat experience.  I've never been to any live television show before, so getting a glimpse of how everything works was really cool.  There were cameras on both sides of the room, and in the back there was a room with all the equipment used to run the show.  Everyone wore headsets and looked very professional.

Students could either call into the show and ask questions, or an audience member could ask a question.  The host of the show would attempt to make a joke about the question, which I think kind of helped to break the ice.  Then one of the professionals would try and answer the question.  Some of the questions asked were off the wall, but that's what made the show fun and unpredictable.

When I went to the show I didn't know what exactly I would be witnessing.  If it wasn't for this English project I probably wouldn't have watched or even known about the show.  It's always a fun experience to go to an event you normally wouldn't.
