RELEVANT QUOTES ACT 2.2 “None my lord, but that the world’s grown honest.” - Rosencrantz I think that this quote is relevant because it shows just how horrible Rosencrantz is. In the world right in that time it was full of lies for Hamlet and Rosencrantz was one that was lying to Hamlet constantly. ACT 2.2 “My lord, we were sent for.” -Guilderstern This quote is relevant because it tells us that we cannot trust Rosencrantz and Guilderstern. It also shows Hamlet that his list of allies is only two, Horatio and Ophelia. It also shows that Rosencrantz and Guilderstern are nothing but filthy spies that only care for themselves. ACT 3.1 “He does confess he feels himself distracted, but from what cause he will by no means speak.” -Rosencrantz When he says this I think that it shows us that Hamlet does not trust Rosencrantz and Guilderstern at all and that he will not tell them anything to help them with their task. ACT 3.2 “I know no touch of it, my lord.” -Guilderstern This quote is a metaphor for Guilderstern saying he know nothing about what the king is going do. He knows Hamlet does not believe him, but he still tries to play like he does not know what’s going on. ACT 4.2 “I understand you not, my lord.” -Rosencrantz This quote shows how stupid Rosencrantz and Guilderstern really are. They understand nothing that Hamlet tells them. So they cannot do their job correctly, so now Hamlet is using them like a recorder.
