Tell us about yourself and family?

Well as you know I am a Registered Nurse,
I am certified in Cardiac Critical Care
as well as psychiatric nursing. I travel
as a nurse to different hospitals that need
my skills and request me. Well if I want
to accept their offer that is *LOL*. I am
currently working on attaining my masters
degree as well.

I have been married for 33 years as of last
march to a wonderful man, it wasn't always
easy but who's life is. I have five marvelous
children, all different, all remarkable.
And I am blessed to have nine magnificent
grandchildren whom I adore.

And of course we have our Mandy. She is
our "puppy" and we spoil her rotten.

Tell us your hobbies and interests?

Hobbies are tennis, swimming, running,
Harley riding with hubby and people watching.
I also love to read, which comes in handy
with all the studying I have to do*LOL*

I am interested in so many things, people,
all of the above and the computer of course,
although I am not sure if that is a hobby,
interest or obsession--hehehehehe
Thank you all for the wonderful
questions and great honor.

Tell us your favorite song?

I love so many different types of music by
so many different artist that I really
couldn't name one song. There You'll Be
by Faith Hill, became very important to me
when my good friend became terminally ill
and subsequently passed away. I made a page
for him using the wav.

My question for ISCU is Nursing takes a special
kind of person and you seem to enjoy it but was
there ever a time when you wished maybe you could
do something different? If you answer yes what is
it and if you answer no why?

There honestly was never a time when I wanted
to do anything other than nursing. The field
is so diverse that if you get the proper
education and certifications you can move
throughout a variety of areas. That is what I do.

Your site is titled 'Life is a Test'.
What do you think the test is, and how do
you think people should go about learning
how to 'pass' this test?

The name came from a book entitled "Don't Sweat
The Small Stuff, By Dr. Richard Carlson,
This is the excerpt I use.
One of my favorite posters says,

"Life is a test. It is only a test.
Had this been a real life you would have been
instructed where to go and what to do."
Whenever I think of this humorous bit
of wisdom, it reminds me to not take
life so seriously. When you look at
life and its many challenges as a test,
or series of tests, you begin to see each
issue you face as an opportunity to grow, a chance to
roll with the punches. Whether you're being bombarded
with problems, responsibilities, even insurmountable
hurdles, when looked at as a test, you always have
a chance to succeed, in the sense of rising above
that which is challenging you. If, on the other
hand, you see each new issue you face as a
serious battle that must be won in order
to survive, you're probably in for a very rocky
journey. The only time you are likely to be happy
is when everything is working out just right.
And we all know how often that happens.

You have some absolutely wonderful music on
your site - I looked in your links to see
if there was one for the midi's - where
have your found such good music - it seems
as though I would want one of every one on
your pages . Good taste in music, LOL

Thank you, I surfed over and over the
find the right song for each page so
I really don't have one link. I often
start at www.pianoladynancy.com she has
wonderful links and they in turn have more.
You are very welcome to have any song I have,
I will gladly email any of them to you Hon..

What does Iscu stand for?

ISCU stands for Intensive Special Care Unit,
that is where I was working when our wonderful
Katie invited me to join SGM, I couldn't
think of any other name so I used that one.*LOL*

What is your greatest inspiration in life
to help you write about all your causes?

My inspirations are the wonderful patients I
care for. I have seen them fight and work
so hard to beat terrible and sometimes
insurmountable odds, with incredible strength
and faith, from young children with cancer
and their parents, to the many others fighting
an array of illnesses physiologic and psychosocial.
Some we lost, but none will ever be forgotten.

What is your most favorite restaurant meal?

hehehehehehe, You very well know my friend
that my favorite food in the whole world is:
LOBSTER!!! And since I haven't a clue how
to make it I must go to a restaurant
and let them cook it for me

While visiting your lovely website,
I particularly enjoyed your new
page, "Women Only". Have you read
the "Succulent Wild Women" books?
If so, what insights did you find for yourself? ?

I haven't red those books, but I was very
moved by our sisterhood in SGM so I found
a huge poster that to me said it all, so
I made it into a page. In hopes that women
will read it and take it to heart, because
we are incredible human beings and need to
sometime take care of "us".

What is your favorite thing about Life?

My favorite thing about life is my family and friends.
They are all very very important to me and it
doesn't matter where we all are at any particular
time, we each know that we can count on each
other no matter what.

What do you like to do to destress yourself?

hehehehe, I get on the computer and visit
my sisters sites and just sit back and chill.
I am also trying to learn psp so I can make
my own graphics, of course that proves to
be a bit stressful at times*LOL*

I notice that you have several causes
that are close to your heart. Is
this because you know someone with
these ailments or because you've
learned about them through your
nursing experience??

all of the causes close to my heart are
because of someone close to me that
suffers from the ailment or as in the
psyche pages it is due to my work in that area.
