FAREWELL "CI" IT'S THE BACKPACKER TRAIL FOR US NOW
Buon giorno,

Well, much has happened in our simple lives of late. Firstly our van is no longer. After a long struggle, there was really no choice but to scrap it, literally. After Morocco, the van became more difficult to drive until a wheel fell off while driving! This was the last straw for us and we resolved to sell it off in Barcelona.

We limped up the Mediterranean coast from Tarifa after arriving back from Morocco. This was a beautiful journey for us, though with much hair pulling frustration to compliment. To recall, our last page ended after Benicasm.

From Benicasm we made our way up the coast to Tarragona, actually just short, since our van could go no further. We spent some beautiful days literally camped on the beach and got ready for the next push into the world of backpacking. Lotsa of beach tennis and snorkelling before heading off to barcelona. There trully is something about Spanish beaches, their grey-white sand and gentle blue waters make relaxing so easy, you find days have passed before you event think of doing something different.

We rolled our "bunky" old thing into Barcelona and were blown away! This is one seriously awesome city. After some nasty dealing with the local wreckers we dumped the van and headed back into the real world on foot, we weren't dissapointed. Gaudi's architecture is all over the place and dominates. It is absolutely magic and the city as a whole is so open and brave that you feel liberated just walking the streets. We stretched our necks and lost our breath at the La Sagra Familia, past pleasant afternoons in Gaudi's parc Guell, bustled about on Las Rambla, found magic alleys in the Barri Gothic, ate great tapas and generally felt like backpacking was the right move.

Following this, we felt it was only right that Rosh should spend his birthday in two major cities, so we flew to Rome on the 7th. Well, if we thought Barcelona was great, it's only a taster for Rome! This place is seriously where it's at! It beautiful, clean, easy, friendly, and everything is walking distance. We've had two days walking around the Colosseum and ancient rome, we've eaten gelato at the Trevi Fountain, visited the Pantheon, and eaten pizzas at reputably the best pizza join town. Both of us conclude that it was the best pizza we've eaten too! We're so stoked with Italy... it's amore. We've devided to extend our Italian leg and leave Greece for another time.

If you didn't get to read about Morocco, there's a link at the bottom of the page, so check it out. The photos for everything will still be on this main page. check em out, we love showing you a little of what we're getting to see.

Much Love
