PRODUCT REVIEW:

Sometimes the task of surfing around the great world of cyberspace can be frustratingly slow. You’d like to have some type of application to make your trip smoother and faster. I’ve found a great solution to this problem. Dr. Speed NetRX.

I connect to the internet via broadband (cable modem). Now you might say, “that’s really a fast connection so what’s she worried about?” Well sometimes even broadband is slow moving. I have to admit not nearly as slow as dialup, but it can get bogged down. I have been using Dr. Speed NetRX and have found that it does speed up webpage downloads, sending and receiving mail, file downloads, graphic downloads on webpages…etc. Now, who wouldn’t want that? Especially if you have a dialup connection!

Aluria Software is a family owned company which takes great pride in the products they produce. Their #1 priority is customer service. Their company is based on two principles: 1. Make other people money and you make money. They offer a higher % on commissions than most. 2.  Give the BEST service at the BEST value for the BEST software and you will not only outlast the competition, but will beat em!  Their customer service is fantastic! Let’s face it, you can buy wonderful products but if there’s a lack of customer support when something goes wrong, that product and the company it comes from loses a lot of credibility. Therefore, I’d say it also loses business. If you run into any type of problem or simply have questions, Aluria is there for you within 48 hours or sooner. I think that’s a VERY big asset for a company to have.

Now about how Dr. Speed NetRX and MemRX work:

NetRX: When you visit a website, it records the path to the website and stores a map to that site, so you no longer have to ask directions every time you want to change pages. It just tells your computer where to go without asking the DNS for directions. The program also lets you set optimal settings specifically for your computer to get the most out of the bandwidth that you have. Although it’s not possible to increase your bandwidth, this software can make your computer get the most out of your bandwidth and operate faster because it will change the packet size to fit your bandwidth. There are optimized settings for dialup connections as well as the broadband. One click of the button and the software does the rest. Also, the feature I love the best, stopping those annoying pop up windows! There’s an option in the setting that you can choose to end all popups. I know sometimes links from websites are programmed to pop up a separate window. If this is the case, just deselect the option and let the new window pop up. Same goes for clicking a link in an email. I get very annoyed with popups that just won’t quit! I’ve gone to a site, had so many popups that my taskbar was over flowing with them. Close one and four more pop up. Grrrrr! Now I just use NetRX to eliminate that pesky problem.

MemRX: With so many processes going on in the background of your computer, your memory can get eaten up very quickly. MemRX tells you how much virtual and physical memory is being used. There’s a “clean memory now” button that optimizes your system and cleans up unnecessary memory usage. This will make your computer and the programs you are currently using work faster. There is a schedule you can set to do this automatically every 20 min, 60 min, 2 hours or 4 hours. It also comes with some extras that let you tweak your system a bit to further increase memory. There are additional tweaks and suggestions for Windows XP users, of which I am one.

I would highly recommend these products to anyone that has a computer and connects to the internet. They make a noticeable difference whether you connect via dialup or broadband. Who doesn’t want a faster, smoother experience on the WWW? I sure am loving the difference they’ve made for me!
