Kyle was there and he was already changed for class.  As Max and Michael put their bags down on the benches and started to get ready for class, they saw Kyle in the corner of their eye, looking at them in disgust, detesting their very presence.  Few seconds after, Kyle left their company.  Max expressed his upset by the look on his face, although he didn't mean to.  On the other hand, Michael's eyes were burning with anger, and his jaw tensing simultaneously as he bit down on his own teeth.  Many words were exchanged between Max and Michael in this situation, but neither person spoke, and didn't have to.  They both knew each other so much, so intimately, and their feelings were so powerful, that each young man only had to look at the other to find unspoken messages.

Once they were changed they both headed out to class together, Kyle's eyes following their every move with subtle determination.  Max and Michael avoided conversation with anyone else but themselves, and kept even that, at a minimal rate.  After class most of the guys hit the showers.  Max was there almost as soon as class finished.  He closed his eyes and thought about Kyle's feelings, he didn't want his existence to make anybody feel uncomfortable and at the same time, he couldn't help it, he didn't even know why he was here on Earth, or where he originally came from.  He felt so confused and so wrong and he just didn't know what to do about any of it.  When he opened his eyes, Kyle was directly in front of him, staring at him.  There was a fairly large moment of silence, which was eventually broken by Max.

"It's not green Kyle."

"No Max…haha…'course not…it's fine…I mean…um…it's not green…not that I was looking or anything."

Michael enters.

"What is your deal Kyle?  Don't tell me you've decided to be a fruit all of a sudden"

"Michael…you're here too…now…I mean…um…I think maybe I should just…go now."

Max frowns at what Michael had just said to Kyle.

"I don't think that would be such a bad idea Kyle."  Max shares, implementing Kyle's abrupt and altogether quirky exit.

"That was…weird."

"I know Maxwell, I mean I've got nothin' against the gays, but Kyle suddenly going all-out pink, and checkin' you out, that was just whack.  I feel sorry for you man."

"Michael…I don't think Kyle is gay…if he were, I don't think first declaring it, in any way, in the male locker room, would be something he or anybody would do."

"Good point.  Maybe he can't help himself."

The two young men by this time have wrapped their towels around their waists and are arranging their things at their locker, preparing to change.

"Michael."

Max took a few moments to sigh at his friend's lack of ability to reason.

"I think he's OK with everything…about us…you know.  Think about it.  Like Liz told us, for weeks now the others have been almost religiously gathering to help each other deal with what they've found out and the few times that I have seen any of them, they've acted as if I were a known murderer."

"OK I got that already, so what's your point?"  Michael hardly ever cared to think for himself.

"My point is…sure…the way Kyle just acted was indeed…questionable at best, but he did just come within a meter of me, which is an all-time first, not to mention the mutual nudity.  So I guess he wants to get closer, rather than run away and since he and the others have been consoling each other through their present situation, then I'm lead to believe the others probably feel the same way as him."

"I'm not the brains of the operation…what's it all mean?"

"It means, if I'm right, then that's a good thing."

"Oh OK, cool…I guess."  Michael shrugs, as usual, displaying no sensitivity for something that matters.
