	Maria, as mentally and spiritually open as she is, found it quite hard to deal with the fact that alien/human hybrids existed and where people she knew, nonetheless.  However she managed to recover from her shock quickly, as proven by her quick venture in to a firey relationship with Michael, one of these hybrids.  Although the couple are unlikely, they have at some points, outlasted the strong love of Max and Liz. Maria is a singer and her ambitions are set towards that career path.  She is always there for Liz and Michael and although she keeps a low profile with other people, is always glad to help out anybody in need, no matter how estranged she is by who may approach her. Liz and Maria have been best friends since forever, and they work along side each other in the space/alien themed cafe Liz's dad owns called 'The Crashdown'.  It seems impossible for she and Liz to fall out, even though they sometimes have differences in decision and opinion, they seem to be immune from judging each other.
