	Sherrif Valenti's objective towards the hybrids was hard to distinguish at first, he was often confused as to what side he was on, once he discovered the truth.  It became quite apparent that his wishes were to protect the hybrids the same way he would protect any other teenager, as he professed that whatever else they were, they were still human too. However, the side he was on was ultimately defined at the moment his son Kyle's life was at risk.  As Max saved Kyle from the grasp of death, Kyle's father sworn to protect the hybrids and the rest of the group in any and every way he possibly could, with their special situation took in to consideration. He kept his word.  In the future, soon after Tess moved in with his son Kyle, he accepted Tess as a daughter and formed a powerful relationship with all of the youngsters in this specialist group, along with having an ongoing 'thing' with Maria's mother.
