Jesus Loves Me! The Sower. This is story is taken from the Holy Bible. Copyright (C) by Noelene Rout 2nd September 2006 all rights reserved. For these people's minds have grown thick, and their ears are dull of hearing and they have closed their eyes, so they can't see with their eyes, or hear with their ears, and understand with their minds, and be converted and have their sins forgiven, that may I heal them. But your eyes are blessed, because they see, and your ears are blessed, because they hear. For truly I say to you, many prophets and righteous men have wanted to see the things that you see, and they have not seen them, and they have wanted to hear the things that you hear, and they have not heard them. And Jesus said to them, You do not know this parable? Then how will you know all parables. Now listen to the parable of the sower. This is the parable. The seed is God's word, and the sower sows God's word. When any one hears the word of God and does not understand it, the devil comes, and he takes the word of God that was planted in that person's mind, out of that person's mind. And those people by the side of the road, where the seed was planted; are those people that hear; but after they have heard, the devil comes straight away and he takes the word that was sown in their minds, out of their minds so that they cannot believe and be saved. And the rocky ground where the seeds were sown are those people that hear the word and receive it straight away with joy. But these people don't have roots in themselves, and they only believe for a while, and later, when trouble and persecution happen, and they get tempted because of the word, those people get offended and they stop following Jesus. And those people who received the seeds among the thorns are those people who when they have heard the word; go forth, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches and the lusts of other things enter into them and choke the word, and they don't bring any fruit to perfection. And those on the good ground are those people who hear the word in an honest an good heart, and they understand it, and they receive it, and they obey it, and they patiently bring forth fruit, some bring thirty, some sixty, and some a hundred. And Jesus said to them, nobody lights a candle and puts it under a vessel, or under a bed, but on a candlestick so that everyone who enters into the house can see the light. For there is nothing hidden, that shall not be made manifest, neither are there any secrets that shall not be known and spread abroad. If any one has ears to hear, let that person hear. And Jesus said to them, Therefore, take notice of what you hear: for with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you who hear more will be given. For whoever has, to that person will be given: and whoever does not have, from that person shall be taken away even what that person seems to have.
