The atmsophere is tossed about by the wind..Air is tossed up and down.

Wind scatters things about.
Thou shalt fan them and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them,: and thou
shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shall glory in the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 41:16

17 I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will show them the back, and not the
face, in the day of their calamity. Jeremiah 18:17

2 Thou shall burn with a fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled:
and thou shall take a third part, and smite it about with a knife: and a third part thou shall scatter in
the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them. Ezekiel 5:2

The waves of the sea are driven with the wind.

Winds can drive the rain away.
23 The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue. Proverbs 25:23

Great winds can drive great things. Big things can be moved by big winds.
4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fiece winds, yet are they
turned about with a very small helm, withersoever the governor listeth. James 3:4

The wind pushes.
7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not
suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salome. Acts 27:7

The wind pushes things along.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the
rudder bands, and hoisted up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward the shore. Acts 27:40

Wind blows from the south.
55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. Luke 12:55

Wind blows from the north.
16 Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may
flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits. Song of Solomon 5:9

Wind blows from the east.
24 By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth? Job 38:24

Wind blows from the west.
19 And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into
the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt. Exodus 10:19

Wind blows from all over the place.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it
cometh, and wither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the spirit. John 3:8

Some winds are soft.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence,
they sailed close by Crete. Acts 27:13

Some winds are rough.
8 In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the
east wind. Isaiah 27:8
One wind can stop another wind from blowing.

Some winds are boisterous.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord,
save me. Matthew 14:30

Winds can be stormy.
37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
Mark 4:37

23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were
filled with water, and were in jeopardy. Luke 8:23

Winds can be mighty.
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is
shaken of a mighty wind. Revelation 6:13

Winds can be great, and winds can be fierce.
18 And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.  John 6:18
