Some of the water seeps down into the earth and cuts paths beneath the earth, and the paths become holes (caves and caverns) as the flowing sediment laden water continues to cut into the earth and wear away stone. There are caves in the earth and its rocks beneath the sea that have been formed by the action of water flowing back to the sea from land, and also by the action of moving waters beneath the sea. Some caves are formed in the sides of mountains and hills by the wind..Wind is continually whirling about.. Ecclesiastes 1:6..Wind picks up particles of earth and rock..1 Kings 19:11..and the wind carries the particles of dust and rock throughout the atmosphere..Ecclesiastes 1:6..Nahum 1:3..and the dust laden winds beat against the sides of mountains and hills and wears caves and caverns in the earth. The sea also makes caves..The sea is salty..Genesis 14:3..The salty sea throws out dirt, rocks, pebbles, and shells, and salt..Isaiah 57:20..and the dirt, and the rocks, and the pebbles, and the shells, and the salt, combind with the action of the waves, form caves in the sides of cliffs, by breaking into, and wearing away, earth and rock. Wind and flowing water forms caves and caverns in ice.
